A Crazy Spider Web

I absolutely hate spiders! I cringe in disgust at the sight of the ugly critters. I, nonetheless, found this article to be quite interesting.
Over twelve different families of spiders have worked collectively to weave a massive twenty yard web.

I wonder how the spiders organized themselves to complete such an intricate piece of work. For instance, how they decided to divide the tasks amongst themselves. According to the article, the most prevalent specie involved in making the web is usually accustomed to leading a solitary life. What then, inspired these different species of spiders to come together and produce a spider nation? Who lead the project? Did it start with one spider and then evolve into a movement of which every spider within the vicinity felt compelled to take part in?

I’m usually the least interested in bugs. I don’t discriminate either. I could careless about the livelihood of any insect that crosses my path. It’s getting killed on spot if I catch it in my personal space.
The community these critters have produced has given me a new found respect for spiders. Maybe in the future, I should think about this article before I take my shoe and smash a spider into oblivion.
